Chaps and Chapesses

I will be visiting mates in Chester over the next week and would like to rent a GA aircraft. Just for a few hours as they are all Airline bods now and want some nostalgia!
My question is where should I go? I started flying at Liverpool flying school years ago and found them very nice and, dare I say more helpful than the school at Hawarden. However that was 4 or 5 years ago, before LPL became very busy. Not that that would put me off. Also I would rather a place who aren't going to use my check ride as an excuse to take me for another ride! I am very current at my own club up north.
Basically who are the most helpful and reasonably priced? Also PA28/38 would be useful.

Thanks

SK
