Hey - I've been thinking recently of what to do after university (and after getting a job to do this!!) and I would love to fly in Australia to gain additional ratings.

So, I contacted CASA to ask if there were any JAA approved schools in Oz - Which there aren't! :{

Does anyone know the approximate conversion price of say doing a NR or IR? I've been told for the NR its about £2k? :ugh:

Thanks in advance,

Ian

Take a look at the D & G section.

I got a "lifetime" CASA Licence last December, however, with all the security issues. it is likely to be invalid before I get back down there to fly next year.

Furthermore, probably won't have the time to get security vetted during the time I'll be there to use the privileges of the licence.

IW,

Which part of Oz are you headed for? I have only flown in VIC and TAS where on occasions you can feel at home in UK style weather. On the other hand you can get some fantastic days and there is a great variation of airfields all within an hours flying time of Melbourne and great scenery too.

If you go to one of the large G.A. airfields, MEL Moorabbin, there is a great choice of aircraft availble too.

Take a look at www.moorabbinairport.com.au
And there is a CASA office on site.

Whatever, enjoy!
