Today i was asked by the instructor involved in the EFATO/rule 5 case to thank all of you for your support.

I know this has been a very trying time for him and the support and encouragement from this forum has helped a lot.

The sting in the tail is that the CAA do not have to pay all his costs,it would seem that there is a £8000 limit on what the CAA have to pay.
this will leave the defence out of pocket by a large sum as good leagal help is not cheap.

Contrast this with the CAA who can claim all the costs if they win.

Quite agree, especially with the size of the CAA purse compared to that of an instructor!!!

Well done big guy! We're all glad to hear you're off the hook.... gutted to hear that the CAA won't stump for the costs, and proud to be a member of a flying club that is able to help a bit at least :)
