Does anybody out there Know the status of Poulton aerodrome ? (nr Chester)
I know its disused but would it still be capable of supporting small aircraft movements. Who owns it at present and why is it no longer active ?
Any background info would be really appreciated.

Hi,
No detailed knowledge about the state of the runways, but think that the airfield is part of the Duke of Westminster's estate,Eaton Hall, (he owns a corporate jet which is based elsewhere).
I seem to remember mention that some aircraft were based there a few years back - a civvie owned Tucano springs to mind.
Looking at an aerial photo on multimap suggests one runway may be reasonable, with the other completely unuseable :

Let us know how you get on. I fly up to Hawarden on a weekly basis and am looking for something a bit closer. Still trying to get an answer from RAF Sealand for the same reason!
