does anybody out there have any experience or contact names / companys who can assist ( provide the whole package) in freighting a small biplane ( in this case) from florida to the UK - any ideas of cost or who to contact would be greatly appreciated

Due to the cost of containers it is almoat as cheap to ship three aircraft as it is to ship one so get together with some likeminded people and get a big container and split the cost.

When you put the aircraft in the contaner chain them down DON'T use rope to secure them as it streaches and the aircraft will move about when at sea and are likely to get damaged.

Barcli,

I responed to yr e-mail before I saw this thread.

I can highly recommend Jason Newburg up at Daytona to pre-purchase inspect and then disassemble for freighting. He knows all there is to know about Curtis' little bipes.

He is currently doing just this for another mate who is bringing a 2C to europe and is also about to freight his own Extra over to compete in the World Advanced comp in Sweden in a couple of months.

I still think that the other option, option B (!) would be a winner!
