Last fatal accident involving fare paying passengers in the UK.

Could someone please confirm when the last incident was?

Lockerbie was '88, and Kegworth in '89. If you include accidents abroad involving UK carriers, I believe the Gerona incident in '99 resulted in one person dying in hospital later.

I know there are numerous accidents involving light aircraft, and there was the Air Algerie 737 freighter in '94 and Korean 747 in Dec 99, but I'm mainly concerned about passenger flights.

According to the CAA (stats sheet I can't find my way back to!), there was one fatal incident between '95 and '99, with 9 deaths.

Could anyone please elaborate further?

Correcting if I am wrong but I am low in caffeine. Around 95 or 96 there was a fatal chash involving an Embraer 120 in central England.

I am on a meter line and could not do it but I 'd suggest you try a type based search on airdisaster.com (I mean you do to their accident database and search for Embraer jets the brasilian manufacturer).

I previously searched "England" and "Scotland" (nothing came up for Wales). It's latest for England was the Korean Air, preceded by Kegworth.

A quick google for Knight Air showed that they did operate scheduled services from LBA, and searching the database again for Embraer came up with:

Airline: Knight Air
Aircraft: Embraer 110 Bandeirante
Location: Harewood, United Kingdom

So was this flight carrying scheduled passengers? I assume it was. And did Knight Air disappear soon afterward? I had certainly never heard of them.

Knight Air was a pax flight.

In fatal non pax roles there is also the loganiar 360 out of edinburgh. The chartered Cessna 404 ex glasgow. and a few others.

If you look for jets though I think Kegworth was the last fatal UK reg crash.

Knight Air, took over the scheduled services previously operated by Yorkshire European when they went out of business.

Flight in question was the evening rotation LBA/ABZ, if memory serves me well, 7 pax, 3 crew, no survivors. There was also lot of press coverage over the lack of requirement to carry FDR and CVR in this size of aircraft.

Not long after this incident Knight Air sold business to British Regional who continued operating LBA/ABZ until Eastern took over their J41's.
