Check the Tech forum-freq'asked questions.there should be an explanation of the extended twin ops.engine out limitation on Range. And the steps to reach the Latest 3 hr limit(or is it higher,I heard that boeing were asking for a peculiar number lately):O

When crossing any place there is not a suitable airport (not just oceans) it is 90 minutes if you have 90 minute ETOPS. YVR-HNL brings you alot further than 90 minutes from a suitable airport but is still done in twin engine aircraft.
Beneign ETOPS is 75 minutes and will allow you to fly to the Caribean and such where the weather is usually not a factor. Goes up from there to 90, 120 (+15%) for 137, 150, and 180 (+15%) 207. 240 is the next push but both manufacturers have said if we have 240 there are no ETOPS holes left on the planet so what's the point of ETOPS at all.
