Terribly goofy question guys, but my nephew just got one of those kiddies logbooks the airlines give out & has a LGW - PMI sector in there.

The book requires the nautical mileage to be recorded - I don't know (700nm or so???) & he wants it to be pretty accurate, so I figured somebody would be able to give me an idea of a reasonable mileage which today's flight planning computers would churn out for an airliner doing that sector?

Thanks, all serious replies appreciated!

Assuming a great circle route, I got 707nm from this website (http://gc.kls2.com/).

A pretty good estimate there sitting comfortably. :ok:

I was going to say about 800nm off the top of my head from flight plans I remember, although I havent been there since last season.

I guess that would figure though - the real distance flown is probably 750-800nm by the time you have added departure, arrival routings and airways, so tell him 764nm ?????

A BY 757-200 in May last year had a route distance of 752nm outbound EGKK-LEPA and 808nm on the return (from actual flightplans).
