Hi just wondered if anybody knows of Flying Schools that do
intensive PPL Courses in Scotland. I know this could be a problem with weather. Has anybody done it in scotland and what was it like ? Also if it can be done how much does it cost ?

Thanks

Well I know the Highland Flying school up in Inverness will do a PPL intensivly. When I first went there there was someone from Lewis who came over each week stayed the week for 3 or 4 weeks. I think they charge arround £4K for PPL training and they do 10 hour blocks if you dont want to pay for it in one go.
I went up there to finish my PPL off as weather and a few other things were stopping me.
I enjoyed my time up there and keep going back. The weather is pretty good most of the time much better than the South East of England. The scenery is very impressive too and the landing fees you have to pay for your cross country are of the region of £4 and not the £30 like in the South of England.

If you have any sort of military connections, then Moray Flying Club at Kinloss are also very good. It is still possible if you're non-military, but the paperwork for getting on and off the station without an escort is more time consuming. As they're a not for profit club and use some unpaid service instructors to top up the paid ones, their rates are competitive.

Fife, Perth and Dundee would all offer intensive courses also, I believe.
