I haven't heard anything yet but I do remember reading a letter on the flying club noticeboard from NIE about an incident where a glider hit some powerlines in Limavady. Could it have been someone referring to this?
I'll be flying tomorrow so I'll see what I can find out.

There's nothing on the news either. What time was this at?

It was around noon, I just heard form friend in AA ATC.

It was the homebuilt bi-plane from EGAE (dont know the type), they lost control doing aeros and recovered just before hitting ground but hit some wires and broke them.

I think thats the old fella that was at aldergrove for a while

They landed safely at the airport with some damage to prop and wings.

Lucky or what

Very lucky indeed. NIE will be ripping mad! :\

I don't remember seeing a bi at Aldergrove before apart from the old one in the hangar (can't remember the type).

Even worse it happened in Donegal.

That means IAA & CAA and a lot of greif for the chaps

I think it was a Star duster.
