Hello There,

I hope i am in the correct forum to post this question,

Is there some way to find out a cost breakdown of operating a boeing 737 aircraft?

This aircraft will be used app. 9 block hours per day and operate in the EU.

I would also like to find out the average maintenance costs for a Boeing 737 per year.

I am willing to pay for this information, if it can help me setting up a business plan. Send me a personal message to apply.

Thanks guys ! :ok:

Somewhere in the Standard Handbook for Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineers (ISBN 0071362290) there's an account of various aircraft operating costs, and a source is mentioned for these. I don't have a copy of the book and I can't recall the source, but if you request a copy through your library you'll be able to get your hands on it.

Further to your query:

From the US DOT's Bureau of Transportation Statistics 1999/1998, 'Air Carrier Financial Statistics Quarterly, Fourth Quarter, December,'

The maintencen cost in USD/hr for a 2 engined narrow-bodied airliner would be $515/hour. A 2 engined wide would run you $780/hour. 3 eng narrow 712, 3 eng wide 1459, 4 eng narrow 990, 4 eng wide 1699.

From Rankin WL, Hibit R, Allen J and Sergent R, 1998, "Development and Evaluation of the Maintence Error Decision Aid (MEDA) Process," International Journal of Industrial Ergonomics, V01/6....

An IFSD costs $500,000 and a cancellation costs $50,000. A delay costs $10,000 per hour. [Obviously regarding airlines.]

From ATA's Economic Report [formerly Annual Report], 2000, the direct operating cost for various aircraft; (ranked in order of pax capacity) USD/hour:

B747-100, $7224
B747-400, $6455
B747-200/300, $7207
L1011-100/200, $4891
DC 10-10, $5703
DC 10-40, $4547
B777, $3804
MD11, $6539
DC 10-30, $5972
L1011-500, $3855
A300-600, $4783
B767-300ER, $3383
B757-200, $2623
B757-200ER, $3168
MD90, $3976
B727-200, $2567
B737-800, $1665
A320-100/200, $2227
B737-400, $2095
MD80, $2139
B737-300, $1878
DC 9-50, $2137
A319, $2254
717-200, $2571

http://www.air-transport.org/publications/d.aspx?nid=916 refers.

If you also have a look at SET A (Aircraft Data Files) on http://www.bh.com/companions/034074152X/appendices/default.htm

and, after selecting an html page pertinent to the aircraft in which you are interested, you can find a rough idea of the fuel/pax/nm (in kg) for same.. it's the very last row I believe.

Hope this helps.
