Interested in buying a share in a plane based at Lee-on-solent. As I have never flown from there I am interested in any feedback on LOS as a base etc tkx IMC

I did most of my IMC flying from Lee; I put a few (not totally relevant) comments here (http://www.pprune.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=105749&highlight=lee+on+solent). I'm not a local though, but I can put you in touch with someone who is (if he doesn't answer on this thread!) :)

Does anyone know how I can get permission to fly into Lee on Solent ? Is it still only permitted to Lee-based a/c ? Thanks for any advice

I'm putting a syndicate around a DH Chipmunk based at Lee if you are interested. Contact me on ons34357@hotmail for further details. I know there's probably a share going in a Cessna 172 also based at Lee.

To fly into Lee you need to contact the Air Support Unit ,the number I don't readily have here but should be in Pooley's,AFE guide etc. You need crown imdemnity up to £7,000,000

I've tried a couple of time to fly into Lee without success.

Then a month ago I heard that it's up for sale and likely to close.

Sounds like another airfield to cross off the list.

I heard recently that Carrill Aviation are to relocate from Southampton Int airport to Lee on Solent. That might counter any rumours that L on S is to close?
