I feel almost embarrassed asking this question, but what the hell.
Our syndicate PA28 has just been teflon coated - and I must say, it looks great and is much easier to keep clean.
However it is now virtually impossible to get the fuselage cover back on - the slightest breath of wind and the damned thing slides off. The job now takes about 10 minutes instead of the previous 2.
Anybody else hit this problem and found any good tricks to get around it?

Have Mrs G. use a fork on it whilst cooking, that will fix it real quick.
On another note, how much difference does the coating make?

About another 5 - 8 knots at 75% cruise, and about half the time to clean it.
Mind you, it's brand new, ask me again in 6 months.
Mrs G is not allowed near my kitchen except to wash up or make tea, cooking is a man's job (and I hate gardening, so it's only fair).

Had the Bonanza done about six months ago, added 5 kts to the cruise and looks great still.
Makes it easy to keep clean.
Cost about £200 I can give you his phone no if you want it.

Hows about using some discretely mounted pieces of self adhesive velcro on the cover & Aircraft just to help get you started:p

I suspect that velcro might not go down well.

Those are some really impressive figures for this teflon coat.
Would not have expected for a film that thin to make anywhere near this difference on these non laminar aerofoils.
What do they say about repairability if you need to respray a bit previously treated with the teflon (ie are the problems akin to those areas treated with silicon containing wax etc?)
