No doubt this has been asked before, so apologies in advance. (With search function knocked out, I couldn't check)

Is it possible as a recently qualified FrATPL to arrange a visit to a unit or tower to learn a bit more about what you guys do and have to put up with?!! :)
Heathrow or West Drayton would be handy being "right next door", however I understand if there are restrictions.

Many thanks and keep up the good work!

There are many Forum members who could assist you with arranging a visit and I am sure one of them will get in touch.

Good luck !!

boeingbus2002,

We stongly encourage that pilots visit an ATC facility, I always try to get pilots to visit a tower, approach control, and enroute facility so that they can see how each facility operates.

In the US we try to get pilots to shawdow a controller for part of a day. The plugs in with the controller so that he/she can watch and see how the controller works traffic, and how various situations (traffic levels, weather, etc.) are handled.
