Mes apologies si this was posted earlier, elsewhere. Seems a French field could do with some support, and I know from helping fight for Rochester that even a simple joining of a list makes a difference.

The pilots and users of Saint-Cyr-l'Ecole aerodrome are delighted to see that foreign friends joined their fought for the survival of the field.

We thank you very much for your support and suggest that you convey the message to as many pilots and aviation fans as possible. Although the site is not yet in english, we put on line a translated form for international subscribers:

Don't hesitate to mention our cause and web site on forums and related discussion groups.

International support will help demonstrate that global interests should pervail against local greed.

Aeronauticaly yours,

Hi All,

I saw something about this on the Flyer Forum, and would like to encourage as many people as posible to pledge their support.

At the same time, if you dont mind SteveR, I would also like to highlight that there is another aerodrome under threat in France near Toulouse, Montaudran. This was one of the pioneering Airfields in France during the days of Aeropostale etc. The link below is in French also, but with some comment by Bernard Chabbert (Sp!), asking pilots to pledge support.

The link is to a PDF file, I presume we should, if we want to offer our support, print this out and then do what with it?

There are three addresses - one to a Mr Chirac - I (again) presume that we should print three copies and post one to each address?

SteveR,

Basically, Yes. Fill in & send off is what I did.

As you can guess, the addresses are to the Monsieur President himself (no stamp required -not sure if it applies from abroard though) the local mayor, and Air France who own the airfield - unlike alot of Airfields in France it is a private aerodrome - home to the Air France Aeroclub.

It seems that the UK isnt the only place with airfields under threat

Regards, SD..

Must admit filling in the online page for St Cyr l'ecole was easier:D
