I wonder if anyone could please advise me on the procedures for emergency traffic at UK airports.

For example, if during low vis procedures, an aircraft abandoned its takeoff.......

The tower would notify any adjacent landing traffic to go-around and the instruct all other aircraft to change to and monitor approach.

Tower would then ask the emergency traffic if it needed assistance, passing them to the fire chief if required.

Is that reasonable?

Whilst I'm sure that someone more eloquent than I will answer you here I can offer you the following link - which is to the UK Manual of Air Traffic Services Part 1 (MATS Pt 1)

http://www.caa.co.uk/publications/publicationdetails.asp?id=222

This document, if you are able to view or download it using Acrobat Reader (http://www.adobe.com), contains all you could possibly want to know about this topic and a whole host of others too.

Hope this helps :)
