Just read on teletext that a CPH-MAN flight made a mayday call and an emergency landing at NCL yesterday. The flight was Scandinavian Air Services flight 539, with 51 people on board.

Apparantly, the pilot complained of smoke "filling the cockpit," yet when engineers checked the plane out on the ground no evidence of a fire could be found. Didn't a similar thing happen with an EZY flight not so long ago? Anybody know anything more about this?

Now where did you pick up that fictional airline name?

It'll be Scandinavian Airlines System, but let's be informal and call it SAS ....

Already another post regarding this in another forum!

There was 50 pax on board, all of them were coached from Newcastle to Manchester and given Light Refreshment Vouchers.
It was reported smoke in the flight deck and the runway was closed for about 3/4 minutes. The aircraft is/was due to position out of NCL tonight at 1745 back to Copenhagen.
