The last of the Concordes has gone on display at LHR. It has been positioned/sunk in a grass island by the 27R holding area and will remain there for the forseeable future (at least until T5 is operational). Hope wing tip clearance is assured on R23 and in the RHA!!

Cheers!

Does that not still leave one more at LHR, the one destined for East Fortune nr Edinburgh? Of the original 7, 5 were flown out, leaving 2 not modded after the Paris crash. I wasn't aware that either of those had left.

Still, be nice to see it parked up while we hang around for departure.:ok:

What happens about the "Gate Guardian" model at the mouth of the tunnel? Are BA going to leave it there, or will they now consider it the equivalent of having Hengist or a Britannia out there and replace it with something beautiful and modern, like a 747? :hmm:

Not sure about this term "hang around for departure". Makes it sound like we're slackin'!

Anyway, as far as I'm aware there are 2 left at LHR. Not sure when the EDI example is set to depart (unless someone can tell us otherwise?)

Cheers!

Incidentally, it's really wierd to see the one at Barbados...tiny little apron, packed to the gills with 7x7s at one end and commuters at the other...and Concorde sitting there all graceful and sleek in the middle.

Hello all!

Yesterdays positioning of SSC into the forementioned grass area was a rehersal in preparation for it being a permanent fixture from next week. The aircraft has been towed back into the BA hangers for now.

Cheers!
