Flybe - which aircraft which route?

Was wondering if anyone could help ... I am looking for some general information regarding which aircraft type operates which routes for Flybe.

Is it essentially Q400s for the domestic routes and 146s for the European routes (along with higher load routes such as LGW - BHD)?

Also, what are the bases for the Q400s? Is it BHD, Birmingham, EDI, GLA, Exeter, GCI, JER, LYS, NCL, Paris, SOU and Toulouse as posted on ppjn.com?

Main reason for asking is I have an interview with Flybe in a few weeks and I want to be fully prepared and know everything I can about the company - there seems to be conflicting info regarding bases and I can't seem to find anywhere which tells you which a/c operate which route (not even on the flybe.com timetable)!

146 operates out of GCI to LGW. Rest of ops from here are the Dash 8.

146 was in use on LGW BHD route last time I used it in October.

Q400 currently based at BHD, BRS, BHX, EDI, GLA and JER.
Planned to eventually replace all the other dash 8s so will be based in GCI, NCL and EXT eventually.

Currently no plans to base Q400s in SOU or the French bases.

As of 6th Jan when SOU-BGY finishes the Q400 will be on mainly domestic routes plus BRS-TLS, BHX-TLS and BHX-SZG. However it has the range to operate to any of the destinations the company serves in France, Austria or Switzerland, including the recently announced French routes.

Excrab, from what I have heard, no Dash is in BRS or is likely to be based there. And as for SOU one is due in April for the summer season.

EDI has one Dash8 Q400 based there which does a does mainly BHX rotations all day plus one SOU in the later morning. The evening Sou-EDI-SOU is always a 146.

New routes from EDI to EXT and BFS soon so not sure if additional q400 to be based in EDI

Speedmaster, not wishing to nitpick, but presumably you mean BHD not BFS!

The EDI- EXT will be the existing EXT ac, dont know about the BHD-EDI

Thanks guys (and/or gals), some really helpful information and I definitely have a much clearer picture of where exactly the Q400s are based!

It appears that some of you who have posted currently fly for Flybe - I know this is slightly off thread and not really what this forum is for, but could anyone give me any advice regarding my forthcoming interview with Flybe? Typical questions? How best to prepare? Things I should DEFINTELY know? I really would appreciate any advice!

Ive got the interview for the final stage as well, and am dragging pprune for useful tips.

for the interview i'd have a very good understanding about the company's history as Spacegrand and it's recent changes from JEA to British European to Flybe, and why it was done. All that info is easy to get off the net.

Interview will probably kick off with talking about you, your CV and experiences, then what you know about the company, then tech questions. Not sure what these'll be as i did the interview as a direct entry and not a cadet.

But needless to say the company operates high wing T tails so there's an obvious place to start. Also the old turbo-prop V jet argument given different sector lengths etc.... Icing is always a good one too.

I'm not sure how deep they will go for the cadet interview, I would expect the questions to be more orientated around assesing your personality and aptitude.

For the pilots interview a basic breakdown was to go through your C.V. Ask questions about interests and activities, questions on company history and how it has evolved in the current market etc etc............
Then questions on aircraft (make sure you know lots about the Q400 and not just about what routes it serves)
Basic performance and stalling related questions, engines (turbopropVJet), icing and general aircraft systems questions.

As I said not sure if they will go to TECH crazy on your interview but if you read well ahead you might just impress them.
