Ladies & Gentlemen,

In a moment of boredom, I have constructed an Excel based weight & balance calculator for a the above Aircraft. In order to check it out against the POH, I either need to drive a few hours up the motorway to the school, or spend an hour on the phone.

Instead I thought I would ask if anybody with one of these A/C, or access to the POH is bored enough to check the math, all mass is in Lbs:-

Basic Empty Weight 1678.00lbs,Arm 29.70, Mnt 49836.60
Pilot A 209.44Lbs, Arm 37.00, Mnt 7749.25
Passenger B 187.39Lbs, Arm 37.00, Mnt 6933.54
Passenger C 0.00 73.00 0.00
Passenger D 154.32 Lbs, Arm 73.00, Mnt 11265.62
Fuel 222.67 Lbs, Arm 48.00, Mnt 10688.01
Baggage Front 0.00 95.00 0.00
Baggage Rear 0.00 125.00 0.00

Totals 2452.00 Lbs, Arm 517.70, Mnt 86473.02

MTOW 2450.00

WARNING MAX 2450Lbs

The C og G is therefore = 35.27 inches
Thanks for the support

Mike,

What are you looking for?

Are you asking for someone to check if the CoG falls within the Normal or Utility envelopes? In which case you would need access to th POH - unless there is a generic one for that aircraft type.

Your maths looks reasonable, but you don't need the POH to check that.

Or are you asking someone to check if the lever arms for fuel, pax etc. are correct? Are you sure that these don't vary from aircraft to aircraft? (I wouldn't have thought so, but you never know)

Every aircraft is unique in its W & B calcs. The empty weight and associated lever arm will vary from aircraft to aircraft, - even of the same type - depending on the avionics fit, interior finish, etc. Not a lot, just enough to make you do a separate calculation.
