Hello all. Dont suppose anyone has the flight plan data of the GBOAF flying into EGTG on 26th Nov? Whats the situation with viewing at EGTG, Apparently they are closing the road at the end of RWY27 to stop spectators, and trying to pursuade them to go to Clifton Down.......Any ideas? Im planning to go to EGTG to watch concorde, dont want to see it at the downs, rather see it land.
If anyone has any info on this, I would be very grateful. Also I am doing an airline and airport ops course at College and my class are interested to know this information too.
Thanks.
Dan.

The Filton Enthusiasts' Website is quite good:

www.filton.flyer.co.uk

The original date is not updated yet, but quite a bit of info about access and viewing.

You should check out the police web site...access at Filton is going to be severely restricted. They're talking about 50,000 possibly at the Mall alone.

Hello,
Thanks for that info! I managed to stand on the A38 abeam hold E at EGTG, had a great view! On listening to scanner, realised she flew in under callsign Concorde GBOAF, not Speedbird concorde 9020C. Did GBOAF route over the bay of biscay before routing to EGTG? I suspect not as i heard her on 134.75 then over to 122.72 etc (134.75>122.72>136.07>122.72>132.35). Point being if she came from the bay of biscay direct to EGTG, 134.75 wouldnt be the right sector, it would be more along the lines of 126.07>133.6 (maybe 129.37)>125.85>122.72 etc or am I wrong?
Thanks!
Dan.

Ah just realised my mistake, just read the plan again and realised she was inbound CPT so therefore 134.75 is right! Woopsie! Though from what people were saying it still seemed she went LL-TG direct!?

Flight profile for the day was:

EGLL - high level south of Ireland, supersonic - back into UK airspace from the south routeing SAM - CPT - EGTG - flythrough 2000ft down Rwy 27 - out to the coast and south down to Weston super Mud - left turn inland to EGGD - north to the Clifton Bridge - Right turn radar vectors overhead Colerne to the ILS at Filton Rwy 27.

Concorde came from the Bay up UB11 via BARLU (as was).

Judicious vectoring by Hurn sector controller (and UT!) put GBOAF right over the swanwick car park. Even though at FL180 it was a decent view (apart from 10 sec in cloud).

Unfortunately, the captain turned down the Navy's offer of a Sea Harrier formation - preferrring to fly 'Ops Normal' as he put it.
