Following the emergency landing of Royal Nepal’s B-757 with IRS failure, the 2 B-757’s of Royal Nepal Airlines have been facing a lot of problems due to poor maintenance practice, corruption & commissions.
Just this morning, one of its B-757 made yet another Emergency landing at Katmandu Airport after experiencing in-flight severe hydraulics leakage. The flight Originated from Katmandu Airport bound for Kualalampur. After 3 hours in the flight the Aircraft experienced severe in-flight hydraulics leakage. The crew consisting of F/O operations Director
(who ordered the crew involved in previous emergency Landing following IRS failure grounded because of his dislike towards the crew, pls. Read my previous post titled “Royal Nepal B-757 dated: 11th Oct. 2003, btw the crew involved in the previous emergency landing are still grounded)
decided to fly the B-757 all the way back to Katmandu and made an emergency Landing at KTM Airport.
Due to the poor maintenance of its aircraft, the 2 B-757 owned by Royal Nepal have been experiencing technical problems almost in every flight. Right now, one of its B-757 is grounded at Shangai airport due to some other technical problem since last two days, and the second one is grounded at KTM airport following today’s incident. The condition with these two aircraft are so bad that one of the aircraft has a load restriction of 4 tons because of engine problems and second B-757 has been flown with slat problems which the engineers have not been able to correct for a long time, thus they have been taking off and landing the aircraft at higher then normal airspeed ( ave. 160 kts ). Is this kind of practice allowed in normal passenger flight ?
After finding out about the poor maintenance, I’ll think twice before traveling with them. That’s my personal opinion.
Looks like this is the end of the flag carrier of Nepal !
