Hello,

I was wondering if someone can give me a quick oversight of the process of getting a departure released. Primerily looking EGNM/EGGD and EGJJ but anywhere else would be nice where this occurs in the Uk.

What time do you request the release/and where (eg on Runway at holding point)
What information do you pass?
What information do you get back?

Etc... Etc...

Thanks as always

Assuming you are talking about release by airways-at EMA the airways deps are Dep warned to Manchester about 10 mins before departure, then the southbounds are freeflow, with just an airborne time (mainly to allow the manch controller to give a higher level and put the outbound to london)-the northbounds are tosr'ed with normally just one call before the outbound enters the active-though sometimes this is not possible and you take the risk of not getting the release-as manch have the strips already just the callsign and SID is needed

Departures are released with either Jersey Zone or Approach as the a/c approaches the holding point of the runway in use. The SID or clearance given to the a/c is given to the radar controller who then amends it if necessary.
