Given the recent intense period of solar activity, I was wondering how it is affecting the forgotten souls up on the International Space Station. I seem to remember that solar flare-ups can be a serious health problem to astronauts outsde the protection of the Earth's magnetic field and atmosphere. Is anybody clued up on this area?

They clamber into a little protective pod(s) in the ISS for the period that the outburst is expected to be passing the space station's track.
