LHR CLOSED TO ALL ARRIVALS DUE TO GASLEAK IN HOUNSLOW.

We got word of a gas leak on the morning shift, but that was supposedly a mile or two north of Battersea heliport.

As of 2pm when I left there was no impact on operations.

Seriously, I hope that this is nothing more than a rumour and that no-one suffers as a result.

And, he said rather sadly, a quick listen to the scanner shows they're still making approaches at the moment.

OK folks, It goes like this.
Aircraft diverted from their usual paths into LHR fue to gas leak in Fulham (on approach to LHR). Flightpaths on finals were disrupted due to a large leaky gas pipe.
Transco had people evacuate homes & buildings in nearby area as a stream of gas rose upward.
Sensational journalism, now put right after asking around.

I wish it was that toy dog and someone at BA getting restless again. Fulham doesnt quite justify it but has pleanty of dogs.

The airport was never closed....
