Quick one for LHR controllers please. ICAO separation standards require that aircraft that depart following a landing heavy to a displaced threshold are given 2 minutes.

Question: If I depart 09R in a medium from full length, and a heavy lands on the 09R threshold Block 102, do you consider that to be a displaced landing requiring 2 minutes separation, or do you consider Block 102 to be ‘not displaced’ for this purpose?:bored:

A vortex wake separation would only be required "if the projected flight paths cross."
So unless you can be airborne prior to Block 102 (highly unlikely!!!!) there is no requirement for vortex wake separation. If the heavy landed half way down and you were going to be airborne before the half way mark, then you would (should) be given the extra time.
