Heard a rumour that Groundstar have lost the Air 2000 contract with effect from mid march.. .This would leave them handling just Air Scandic.

Anyone else heard this?

Nope. But I have heard that they stand to gain the Ryanair contract from Servisair at STN. They are supposed to start in two months. Hope that they can get enough people, as they will be running most of the aiport handling(Go and Ryan).

i heard the FR cpntract was signed last night... it puts servisair in a bad position at STN if they lose Ryanair...

as to staff, i think about 80 people were laid off from a STN handling agent when LH and SAS pulled the plug, along with CO.

will be interesting to see what happens in the near future...

The Air 2000 rumor has been flyimng around for months but nothing definate seams to have happened yet, although Servisair are rumored to be planing a summer staff intake of upto 35 dispatchers and 100+ loaders. Wouldn't that would indicate something is affoot?

Groundstar have had a rough time at MAN. Their cleaning section descended into chaos and was bought by AAS along with the toilet and water service and they only have Air2000 as a regular contract. Islandsflug (Sp?) and Air Scandic are not flying over the winter.

I am moving this thread because there is a forum for ground handling issues. Also, there is already a thread running about handling agents.

Because the spelling is so abyssmal, both in the replies and more importantly, the title, I am considering binning it altogether and making you start again.. . <img src="confused.gif" border="0">
