So, if Loganair are not interested, which other outfits could operate the Wick services.........

The Highland Council press release confirms it'll be operated by an ASI Jetstream 32 (PH-DCI and PH-FCI).
https://www.highland.gov.uk/news/art...ator_announced How can a Dutch registered aircraft operate on a UK domestic route? Is this allowed given it's an emergency PSO? Not too familiar myself with the regs! |
On that timetable they must be assuming they’ll pick up charter work for the Wick-based J32

It's operating on behalf of a UK operator. The PSO has been awarded to Air Charter Scotland.

AIS Airlines is interesting. I was under the impression that they had ceased scheduled flying earlier this year with the intention of concentrating on their flight school and ad hoc charters (I seem to remember they were struggling to keep the Jetstreams airworthy because of spares issues). The last PSO routes they operated were in Denmark. Before that, they did PSOs in Sweden and Germany. Most relatively short-lived and not without hiccups. I have flown with them a couple of times to/from ARN and CPH.

Air Charter Scotland will lease a BAe Jetstream 32 from – and operated by – Netherlands airline AIS Airlines before adding the type to its own fleet in the next few months. |

PH-DCI hasn’t flown since 15 May PH-FCI hasn’t flown since 23 Sep Spares from Eastern? UK domestic aviation is a tight knitted world! Respect to those who are making attempts to resume the ABZ - WIK PSO route. |
Given that two aircraft will be based at Wick, and pretty much sat around doing nothing for 90% of the time, I wonder - if this lasts past the end of March, if WIC-EDI could be on the horizon with this arrangement.
Must be a nightmare getting crews from Lelystad to Wick though |

Must be a nightmare getting crews from Lelystad to Wick though Shot hop Lelystad to AMS, 5 flights a day AMS-ABZ, jump on company Jetstream. Seen worse commutes! |
There doesn't appear to be any urgency on getting flights on sale...

Both those JS32s are still in LEY according to FR24. Any hints as to when they might move north?
|
From FR24, looks like flights start tomorrow with a King Air
|
Flights will now be operated by Dragonfly Executive on a King Air until Feb 2nd, when AIS will take over. G-MEGN is due to position into Wick tomorrow morning at 06:45 as CBM101P from Inverness.
