Gatwick

TUI Travel have confirmed that from 1 May 2008, Thomsonfly and First Choice Airways will be operating side-by-side from the North Terminal in London Gatwick. TOM are moving from the South and their operations/crew room is moving from Concorde House to merge with FCA in Jubilee House.

goldeneye 23rd December 2007 18:57

What is the logic in retaining both airline brands ie FCA & TOM.

clipstone1 23rd December 2007 20:18

Both brands will operate for summer 2008 on the TOM AOC. Both airlines had commited summer programmes for summer 2008 prior to the merger, so are planned to continue that way for that season on both TOM and FCA flight numbers. The fully integrated airline is planned for the end of summer 2008. We'll know soon the ultimate branding PLC plans to use for the UK airline.

The fleet will take a little more integrating though, with differing seating configs on both 757 and 763

MUFC_fan 23rd December 2007 20:38

Hope they keep the FCA service - by far the better product! (Speaking from personal experience on MAN-CCC [FCA] and MAN-SFB [TOM] over the past 6 months)

T.Fly Timetable

Had a e-mail from T.Fly to have a look at their new schedules which stretch out through Summer 09.

Amazingly early really - much in front of the ususal first to show (Monarch)

They have unfortunately lost me as a regular @ CVT. I communte back home to Spain - ALC - at least once a every two weeks and used the Friday pm (currently 13:30) and Sunday pm (22:00). The flights are always very well occupied both ways so I am sad to see the Fri / Sunday flights appear to have been dropped.

Anyone any idea why this is ? Those must be the two most popular ALC flights each week and it appears they have been taken off for '09 - very odd.

Bit of a drive for me to EMA - I see they are doing a late afternoon - flight on Friday and back late Sunday - bit of a pain for me with the driving though.

A300boy

heard the other day that Thomsonfly will reduce to one based aircraft at Robin Hood Dsa for the winter of 2008 is this correct ?? and if so why ?? the pax figures posted on the Dsa sight looked quite good but as usual yield may be the problem.

dsatristar 27th April 2008 14:33

A300Boy

The situation will be the same as last winter - there will be 2 or 3 based aircraft dependant on the days.

A300BOY 27th April 2008 18:53

Thanks for the info !! I hope your info is more accurate than mine for the sake of Dsa Mine came from a fairly high up source so lets see !!!

jamesp 28th April 2008 15:11

does anyone know if thomsonfly have put all of the winter flights on for sale, or is there more to follow.

OliWW 4th May 2008 12:32

I heard and have seen that Thomsonfly/First Choice are getting rid of the A320's and A321's in Winter 08/09, how will this effect the bases for Summer 09 as its 9 aircraft what are to be WFU.

Rumble 4th May 2008 15:24

You have heard and seen wrong. See SAM EMA's post on the previous page (post 296) for aircraft still in the fleet for Summer 09 which is accurate.

OliWW 4th May 2008 16:32

Thanks.

However according to "Jethro's" all the A320's and A321's are "For Disp Win 08/09"

mathers_wales_uk 4th May 2008 16:36

According to Jethro's website all FCA's A320 and A321's are for disposal along with 5 of Thomson 733 and 2 x 735 with 1 x 757 going to Fed-EX 2 x 757 for disposal and 2 x 767 going to Silverjet.

JB007 4th May 2008 17:39

Jethro's website (whatever that is!) needs up dating in a big way!

Summer 2009:
5 A320's will remain in the fleet;
x 1 EXT
x 1 BFS
x 1 DUB
x 2 MAN

All A321's removed from the fleet!

2 x 767 going to Silverjet.
If this is refering to AA and AB, they've just been returned to the TUI UK fleet due issues with SilverJet and finance!

Cloud1 4th May 2008 18:37

JB007, thank you. You have cheered me up as I thought we would lose our EXT base for 2009.

Cheers for the correct information :ok:

afterdark 24th May 2008 04:28

whats the current situation of the 767 fleet, as i dont think Silverjet are in a position to take any more aircraft at the moment. any ideas what will happen with any remaining aircraft wfu or planned wfu ?

are all the 767-300's fitted out for long haul use with the leather seats, 33 inch pitch & ptv's nowadays ?

BlueTui 24th May 2008 06:17

the two 762's are remaining in the fleet for the time being, mainly doing sub charters for monarch/XL and other operators, along with providing slack for TOM and FCA.

Thomsonflys remaining 767-300's- four are in long haul configuration with 37/33" seat pitch. One has the long haul IFE but with 328 seats(YD) and the others have 328 seats without the seatback entertainment

G-OBYE
G-OBYI
G-OBYJ
G-OBYG
are the long haul premium aircraft with 283 seats.
