I'm hoping to see Newcastle restored to daily, ideally with the original midday schedule. I wonder what happened to the report that the flights were to go twice daily.

NCL-DXB goes back to lunchtime departure from 29th October. They should do the night flight on Tuesday and Thursday to mix it up
|
There was never a plan for twice daily. The airline simply applied for lunchtime and evening slots before deciding on the timing of the service.

x7 weekly daytime, x4 weekly evening ;)

can’t see it happening before the end of 2024 |
For summer 2023 the majority of destinations will be at pre COVID levels in terms of frequencies. A380 not returned to all destinations/flights.
Compared to summer 2019 following destinations will/have not (yet) been resumed: EDI ZAG (serviced by FZ) SAW (IST increased from 11/7 to 21/7) OPO EWR (DXB-EWR nonstop flight not resumed; currently daily DXB-ATH-EWR) SCL (as a tag-on to GRU, GIG or EZE) KBL PNH (rumoured tag-on to BKK might be re-launched in August) RGN ADL Biggest gaps compared to 2019: Scotland: was 3 daily (incl. A380), now only 1 daily JNB: was up to 4 daily, now only 2 daily China (incl. HKG): was 9 daily (majority A380), now (planned) with 5 daily after recent resumption |
nice subtle livery refresh. Evolution rather than drama

Bilaterals between UAE and Canada have been increased to allow each country 21 weekly flights.
Therefore on short notice the flights to YYZ will be increased to daily A380 starting 20th April. 1st May: 3rd daily flight to TLV to be launched 1st June: one of the two daily flights to DPS will get the A380 29th October: CAI will be increased to 4 daily with 2 daily operated by A380 Number of flights to Australia are also on the way back to pre-COVID levels as additional flights to SYD, MEL and BNE have been restored whereas ADL remains cancelled. Flights to China will be gradually restored by adding further frequencies and A380. PVG and PEK will be back to double daily eff. 1st July and 1st September. BKK will have 4 daily nonstop flights again from 1st August and JNB is planned to be 3 daily A380 starting January 2024. |
Daily flights to Montreal will be launched eff. 5th July with B77W

How come no one else reporting this? Dubai's Emirates orders 200 Airbus A350 aircraft
If true does it kill their outstanding 787 order? |

If true does it kill their outstanding 787 order? I definitely think that the B787 has a future in the Emirates fleet. I also don't think that this huge new order with Airbus for 200 A350s will kill their outstanding B787 order. Looking towards the next decade the Emirates fleet will more than likely consist of A350-900, Airbus A350-1000, B777x, B787-9, B787-10. |
The A380 will work well into next decade which is why they are spending $2B on upgrades to Premium Economy, the 777X is due......well who knows.

I rather suspect that many of the big-name industry publications (i.e Airways Magazine, FlightGlobal, etc.) & other mainstream media outlets will probably wait until there's a properly scheduled publicity event, which will likely be held at the Dubai Airshow (13-17th Nov), before reporting on this. |

By 2035 the Emirates fleet won't be revolving around the A380. Their day's would surely be numbered by then hence why Emirates are possibly interested in making such a huge order for future requirements. I personally haven't seen or read anything about this order except for here on pprune. As another poster pointed out, any such order if true would more than likely be announced at the forthcoming Dubai Air Show. |
My thoughts are with the x6 daily A388s into LHR. That is a big loss of seats moving to any other equipment, unless they get more slots!
|
The link at post #31 quotes "UAE daily Al-Bayan"
Wiki describes Al-Bayan as Al-Bayan (Arabic: البيان The Dispatch in English) is an Arabic language newspaper in the United Arab Emirates which is owned by the Government of Dubai |

6 x daily A380 to LHR could easily be replaced by 8 x daily A350-1000. 3 x daily A380 LGW could easily be replaced by 5 x A350-1000, same more or less with MAN and other airports that see multiple daily A380 flights. Emirates could find a way of obtaining more slots and using aircraft such as the A350-1000 to maintain capacity without a loss of seats. Of course there's also the much delayed B777X that's "due to enter" service for Emirates in 2025. Boeing have stated that sometime during 2025 it will enter service. But it's been a long haul for Boeing to get the aircraft certified. A large aircraft order as outlined by the author of this thread is quite feasible. Having more fflights with more aircraft to maintain capacity without the A380 is more than likely the future outcome for Emirates. We all love the A380 but it's day's will surely be numbered by the middle of the next decade. |
Finding slots for more flights might be the issue
Emirates Airline chief Sir Tim Clark has repeated his call for Airbus to develop a re-engined A380neo, believing the addition of a next-generation powerplant could deliver fuel-burn savings of up to 25% “I know it’s flying a kite but I am trying to get people thinking,” he says, arguing that an ultra-high-capacity aircraft will be the only solution for slot-constrained airports bearing in mind forecast future passenger growth. |

I would also like it if they kept the A380 as it is by my favourite A/C to fly in as a passenger. Aesthetically it is no looker and I do prefer the A350 in that respect but as a passenger the A380 is excellent, and I have spent along time in them mostly with EK and a little with SQ. Cheers Mr Mac |
