So it's now confirmed, according to routesonline Air China will move their current LGW to CTU route to LHR commencing on the 02 April 2019. Although it was inevitable but I will say it again but it's a shame to see LGW lose yet another long haul destination and yet another long haul flag carrier. |
Sorry Canberra97, is misread it missing out 'winter' - sorry!

There are also more cargo opportunities, Norwegian is still relatively new to long haul operations and it’s a learning curve, it will be interesting to see what happens should LHR ever get a third runway and a significant number of slots come up. it should also be kept in mind that they have route approval to fly from Argentina to many international destinations and that includes the US |
13 Norwegian 787-9s at Gatwick next Summer. South Terminal is getting full.

This is due to the way search engines work and people don’t always select “ nearby “ airports which might exclude Oakland & Fort Lauderdale if people search San Francisco or Miami. It appears DUS is the direct replacement for ABZ with the Dusseldorf service commencing the day after ABZ flights cease on 9th Feb`19. |

Rumour is they’re announcing a LGW-DUB route soon, possible replacement I presume. the resultant is Ryanair axe LGW to SNN, ORK and ALC are ramp up LGW DUB at outrageous prices, just like over a decade ago when easyJet came to ORK, SNN and NOC. That said it feels like easyJet have come into their own are more resilient of late versus Ryanair... |
Turkish Airlines seem to be operating 3x weekly to Bodrum next summer and there is also a new 2x weekly service to Antalya. This on top of the daily services to Istanbul and the new 2x weekly to Ankara starting early January. Bodrum was operated 2x weekly this summer.
