A380 | 9H-MIP - Fleet | Hi Fly |
Norwegian are actively marketing the A380 on this route and the prices seem to be some of the cheapest around if you want to fly the A380 to the US i guess RR will be picking up the tab for at least some of the costs due the Trent engine problems. just looked at the website and most of the west bound Dreamliner flights are sold out the next few weeks apart from the odd £850 premium tickets the A380 flights still have seats available with most starting at around £300 any mention of Norwegian on the paint job stand 172M Amusing to think back to Norwegian starting long haul a few years back if you’d have suggest that they’d have an A380 flying these routes you’d have have told to go lie down in a dark room. Are Titian missing a trick here, probably not |

When using the spare runway on 26R, the parallel taxiway is constrained by it's proximity to the now active runway. Last time I did this we had to detour via the North and under the bridge to get to Pier 2, hence bottlenecks and delays.
That was more me thinking out loud than telling you your own job! |

I think you will find that Titan are rather busy just now.

Is there such a huge requirement for all these Chinese routes or will it just dilute other existing UK-China routes? |

Sadly, I think Norwegian will suffer from biting off more than they can chew sooner or later.
This wasn't planned by Norwegian they just had to deal with it. i gather there has been a significant increase in booking to fly on the A380, its peak season so few options available to punters and airline a like, but huge publicity |

https://www.routesonline.com/news/38...from-dec-2018/ Is there such a huge requirement for all these Chinese routes or will it just dilute other existing UK-China routes? Sanya, which is another new route this summer from LHR, are advertising visa-free without travelling onwards. Along with China’s ever-growing middle classes who want to travel, there are a few reasons why the market is booming at the moment. Whether it sustains remains to be seen. Shanghai is quite mainstream of course, but many of the other cities with new routes to the UK have had non-stop routes to other cities in Europe for some time. There are also notable cities such as Hangzhou with no UK route as yet. |
It is perhaps also worth mentioning that in the UK we sonetimes forget how large the population is of many cities in China. Yes, average incomes are lower than the UK but even Hangzhou (without flights to the UK) has more than 9 million residents.

New Easyjet routes to Aqaba, Aarhus, Rovenemi and Warsaw this winter. |
The move to Lhr hasn't helped Garuda much. Route ending at the end of October. Might as well have stayed at Lgw.

Level’s 2 x daily service to VIE are no longer available to sale from 28OCT18. Does anyone know if Level have decided to drop this service altogether?, |
BA long haul increases for Summer 2019 (compared to Summer 2018):
Las Vegas: 3pw --> 6pw (replaces BA271 from LHR) Cancun: 3pw --> 5pw Kingston: 3pw --> 4pw Orlando 13pw --> 14pw Oakland is cancelled, but looks like an extra aircraft is required with a few gaps in the schedule. |
Now I wonder if any new long haul destinations will shortly be announced from LGW for next year with the additional B777 plus the gaps in the current schedules! It's difficult to actually guess on any new long haul destinations from LGW although I wouldn't be too surprised to see Havana being resumed at some point or even Colombo. |

Chicago - Seasonal 3 x weekly 3 class 777 Service (BA currently operate 1 x 747 (Configured 14F/86J/30W/145Y) and 1 x A380 (Configured 14F/97J/55W/303Y). For S19 flights are showing as operating 2 x 747 daily. This means they will be 77J/175W/1106Y less seats a week available) Dubai - BA105/BA104 rotation is very popular with leisure pax due to it’s late evening departure from LHR and lunchtime departure from DXB. Moving this 5 x weekly summer frequency to LGW would fit with the premium leisure market that BA targets at LGW. This route could easily operate year round increasing to Daily from W19 BA plan to continue to grow there LGW longhaul operation over the coming years. Targeting the premium leisure market. I think that direct flights to destinations such Goa, Kochi, Krabi or Phuket would be great additions |
