Particularly interested in what they have planned from BHX......

I wouldn’t get too excited, looks like whatever they might have planned isn’t going ahead at this stage. One new route does look set to be announced though so not all bad.

easyJet new route?....

My money is on a Berlin route...

Airlines tend not to announce new routes when a plane crash has just happened and is all over the news
If Easyjet were planning to do publicity today (Wed 8 Jan) or later this week, they might choose to defer it by a few days until the Ukrainian crash in Iran has faded a bit from the headlines

airjords1220 10th Jan 2020 11:29

Forgive me if this is the wrong thread to be asking this, and please feel free to point me in the right direction... I had an assessment with easyJet for non type rated FO last october, and have been in the holding pool since then, expecting a start date in the, "spring time". Does anyone have any idea of possible course dates, or bases in the current climate?
Thanks in advance.

Does anyone know if we are likely to hear anything new next week regarding new routes or is everything on hold for now? Thanks.

In 5 years time, which will it be for Easyjet ? Oneworld, Skyteam or Star Alliance ?

Looks like it’s just an addition to the other other airlines already in partnership through “worldwide by easyJet”

Announced today:

MAN - MAH, FCO, SSH
LGW - SSH
SXF - SSH
MXP - SSH
VCE - SSH

BHX5DME 15th Jan 2020 09:17

BRS-ORY too

No BHX routes ??

chaps1954 15th Jan 2020 09:52

BRS ORY is a swap from CDG I believe
Also MAN going to 19 based

nwoody2001 15th Jan 2020 11:37

According the Easyjet App BRS-CDG remain 13x weekly both before and after the start of BRS-ORY so it would appear this is in addition to the CDG Route...

Lets hope these aren't all the new route announcements we were expecting. A lot of movement in the schedule for MAN but otherwise little for LGW/BRS and nothing new yet for BHX...

milhouse999 15th Jan 2020 14:07

EZY have just added an extra Thursaday Newcastle to Corfu to their schedule starting very early in the year, 26th April., filling the gaps from the demise of TCX.

They have operated this route for the last 10 years just on a Sunday.

You're not getting the message, that EZY aren't terribly interested in BHX, are you. ;-)

GayFriendly 15th Jan 2020 18:33

To be fair, they appear to be more interested in BHX than they were this time last year with a doubling of routes from two - BFS and GVA to four with the addition of GLA and EDI. Small fry compared to BRS and MAN but then again BHX has 50 Jet2 destinations this summer....so perhaps not as much room for EZY at BHX as they would like away from some unserved city routes?

Thomas Cook LGW slots

Am I missing something? Having paid a lot of money for the ex TCX slots what routes are to use them?

same applies at Bristol where no evidence of new slot use has occurred yet

EasyJet basically did a copy and paste of the Thomas Cook schedule at Gatwick - adding extra services to the Canary Islands, Turkey, Greece and Spain - this included the Tunisia slots. Not sure on the situation at Bristol.

MerchantVenturer 16th Jan 2020 13:23

Last month there were some additions put into the BRS summer 2020 programme:

Antalya 3 x weekly (new route for easyJet from BRS)
Las Palmas 2 x weekly (previous winter-only route for easyJet at BRS)
Hurghada 1 x weekly (previous winter-only route for easyJet at BRS)
One extra weekly rotation on each of Tenerife South, Zakynthos and Bodrum.

A few weeks ago on another forum a member who seems very well informed on BRS matters judging from his/her track record said the airline was awaiting slot clearance at two new airports for BRS routes. One might be Paris Orly that was put into the booking engine yesterday replacing one of the previous Paris CDG daily rotations.

Marko is correct in saying that there appears to be nothing yet to show that the extra slots acquired by easyJet have been utilised - BRS is only level 3 slot coordinated in summer (BST), and then only between 2300 and 0700 in order to deal with its night time noise quota and movements restrictions.

It seems that in summer 2020 an addtional based aircraft (the 18th) will be required, following the pattern in recent years of adding one aircraft to the base complement each summer. However, as far as can be determined this aircraft is not yet fully used so there might yet be more to come for the summer.

it’s kind of what I expected at brs too but it has not been . So far there has been significant drops in available seats to some Greek destinations and Tunisia which I expected easyjet to take as per slot purchase but to no avail.
