GRID MORA
Quick question for you airline types.
RAPID D over mountainous terrain. Do you have to cold weather correct GRID MORA. simple YES or NO. But, you must show where it is written and the method for making such a correction if your answer is yes. Use this route as the basis for your answer. London - Vancouver. RAPID D occurs over Greenland not under radar control. Unable to reach Iceland on HF. AND.........GO. |
If Transition Level is below 10,000ft, descending to any level higher the altimeter should still be on 1013/29.92. No cold temperature correction in that case.

For more answers I would suggest you post in Tech Log. Good luck .

clearance above mountainous terrain (designated mountainous terrain mind you) is 2000'. With all the possible screwups with altimeters, you would still be pretty clear of mountains.
so, down I go. |
Now over the Himalayas, where grid mora is 29000ft +. TL is significantly lower.
|
which temperature would you use?
