Powerjet1, I assume there is still a representative of LBC working at the airport?

My guess is probably...no?

One thing is for sure, AENA will not stand idly by once they are granted the concession.

dc9-32, to which airport did you bring the MD83 as you stated on another thread? Only asking you know

Boeing737-8 29th Oct 2013 21:26

Tarom is in a big alliance which could bring more airlines in and a extra airline for luton but old noisy plane thought

Like Adria did you mean?......

Boeing737-8 29th Oct 2013 21:55

The problem with Adria is that wizz came in took them away from the airport

And the dominance of wizz at LTN means it would be incredibly easy for history to repeat. The point remains however that its unlikely TAROM will cause an invasion of new airlines.

Ah always so much negativity.. Let the guy be happy we have a new service to LTN..

:ok:

Bits and pieces

Rather negative David J I must say, why on earth has a route to be glamorous for God´s sake. Just because Iasi has a small airport does not mean the route cannot be successful - good busines by Tarom I would have thought leasing the Heathrow slots but still able to fly to a ¨London´´ airport. Of course 1 January 2014 is when a lot of restrictions are lifted for Bulgarians and Romanians to enter the UK.
On a slightly different topic I see that if you arrive at Malaga from a Schengen country or domestic you arrive at Terminal 3 and straight through but non-Schengen Terminal 2 and the usual passport check. Visited the airport a few days ago and the new link road from the motorway is now open with no problem picking people or dropping off - no charge of course - and is still the third busiest airport on the Spanish mainland.

Not quite correct. The new link road is only open into the airport. The other outbound carriageway is not complete. Leaving the airport you must use the old route.

Buster

I tend to use PIK for the ferry flights but am going to use CVT for the next one.

Powerjet1 30th Oct 2013 15:26

Dept of Transport has today given approval for the upgrading of junction 10a of the M1. Once complete, the bottleneck on the spur road caused by the roundabout, will disappear, and result in an uninterrupted dual carriageway from the M1 into the airport CTA.

LTNman 30th Oct 2013 19:59

The problem now is that since junctions 13-10 are now 4 lanes at peak times the traffic flow from Junction 10 southbound is 25% busier so there is often queues again to get onto the M1. Seems like traffic flows are often not much better than when there were 5 years ago when there were only 3 lanes on the M1.

Will you be going on this service any time soon looks a nice old well looked after jet

LTNman 31st Oct 2013 06:15

Don't think so, I can already see plenty of Rumanian culture when I make trips to Luton’s town centre. The town is already awash with Rumanian entrepreneurs selling clothes pegs, lucky heather and copies of the Big Issue and this is before most Rumanians have a right to settle.

Good to see the airlines proving the capacity for the new influx the government tells us will not happen.

Thomson's Dreamliner will at last be making an appearance at home base on December 9th. Should be on the ground all day.

You asked LTN MAN but I think I am the only person on the thread to have been on TAROM!
