Bucharest Baneasa is pretty close to town.
It was, before it became Aurel Vlaicu, and has recently been closed as a commercial airport. Sorry to be a geek - it was in the "low cost takes you closer" list too!

Berlin Tegel is fairly close in (and is still open for a few more months), and probably walkable. It is certainly in the central zones for local surface transport. Wellington, New Zealand, is also fairly close to the major night life area, though a mile or so further from the business area.

Kunming seems to be surrounded by housing and is only a short taxi ride from the centre.
