How long until Aer Lingus Regional arrive on the scene? If and when that happens, then things will really heat up between EI and BE.

My bets BA, Aer Lingus won't break away first to them this is their patch. BA have lots of excess slots in the short/medium term ,acquired from BMI. They have to fly them otherwise they lose them. If BA did pull BHD they have to find somewhere else to utilise the slots and the alternatives have to have sector times which tie in with the arr/dep times of the BHD flights at LHR.They have already introduced LBA and RTM which I understand are performing much worse than the likes of BHD. Regardless of what the revenue is (to some extent at least ), if BA have got a sweet deal from BHD management , it is probably the case that flying to BHD is the most cost effective way of utilising these slots .This may change in the medium term if the long haul fleet expands or other shorthaul opportunities become available. However, for this reason I see no likelihood of BA pulling BHD in the next few seasons. |
BA could quite easily scale back the route to 4 or so rotations, well spaced. I'm sure bmi had many a low load factor at different points in the year. It will all pan out in the course of time. I hope EI keep LGW going, sure that could work on different timings

sure that could work on different timings BHD BASED A/C - A319: EI020 BHD-LGW 0630/0800 MTWTF-- 1hrs 30mins EI023 LGW-BHD 0835/1000 MTWTF-- 1hrs 25mins EI048 BHD-AGP 0700/1115 ------S 3hrs 15mins EI049 AGP-BHD 1155/1400 ------S 3hrs 05mins EI072 BHD-FAO 0720/1020 -----S- 3hrs 00mins EI073 FAO-BHD 1100/1400 -----S- 3hrs 00mins EI048 BHD-AGP 1035/1450 M-W-F-- 3hrs 15mins EI049 AGP-BHD 1530/1735 M-W-F-- 3hrs 05mins EI072 BHD-FAO 1035/1335 -T-T--- 3hrs 00mins EI073 FAO-BHD 1415/1715 -T-T--- 3hrs 00mins EI056 BHD-GVA 1450/1805 -----SS 2hrs 15mins EI057 GVA-BHD 1845/2010 -----SS 2hrs 25mins EI026 BHD-LGW 1810/1935 MTWTF-- 1hrs 25mins EI029 LGW-BHD 2010/2130 MTWTF-- 1hrs 20mins A/C - A320: EI030 BHD-LHR 0735/0900 MTWTFSS 1hrs 25mins EI031 LHR-BHD 0950/1115 MTWTFSS 1hrs 25mins EI034 BHD-LHR 1325/1450 MTWTFSS 1hrs 25mins EI035 LHR-BHD 1545/1710 MTWTFSS 1hrs 25mins EI036 BHD-LHR 1750/1915 MTWTFSS 1hrs 25mins EI037 LHR-BHD 2005/2130 MTWTFSS 1hrs 25mins LGW BASED A/C - A319: EI021 LGW-BHD 0630/0800 MTWTFSS 1hrs 30mins EI022 BHD-LGW 0835/1000 MTWTFSS 1hrs 25mins EI025 LGW-BHD 1045/1210 MTWTFSS 1hrs 25mins EI024 BHD-LGW 1245/1410 MTWTFSS 1hrs 25mins EI911 LGW-NOC 1450/1620 MTWTFSS 1hrs 30mins EI912 NOC-LGW 1700/1825 MTWTFSS 1hrs 25mins EI027 LGW-BHD 1900/2025 MTWTF-S 1hrs 25mins EI028 BHD-LGW 2100/2225 MTWTF-S 1hrs 25mins The schedule would have flights departing Belfast for London at Mon to Fri: 0630, 0735, 0835, 1245, 1325, 1750, 1810, 2100 Sat: 0735, 0835, 1245, 1325, 1750 Sun: 0735, 0835, 1245, 1325, 1750, 2100 And departing London to Belfast at Mon to Fri: 0630, 0835, 0950, 1045, 1545, 1900, 2005, 2010 Sat: 0630, 0950, 1045, 1545, 2005 Sun: 0630, 0950, 1045, 1545, 1900, 2005 The destination's included Faro, Malaga and Geneva may not be viable particularly the first two. But also to point out an Amsterdam flight could be slotted in and say in Summer 2014 a third aircraft would again be allocated at Belfast to bolster sun flights (4 dedicated to operation). This would all depend on slots - excluding LHR services which remain inside their limits. |
Seriously folks, is there no way the spotters can post on their own forum? Wading through virtual airline nerds and trying to sort out the interestings bits is getting really tedious.
|
Obviously Jack has a brain and can work stuff out. And why not? Take away airport short codes, runway dimensions and flight paths and many people on here would have little or nothing to say. Its all mathematics just like a mock schedule. Get over it.
|
Mart, i`m not casting doubt on anyones intelligence, I just think the vast majority of postings on both NI airport threads has been hijacked by spotters. Perhaps I am more biased towards actual information which is business related rather than reading glorified train timetables and getting over excited about fantasy schedules. Does anyone agree?:bored:

hijacked by spotters. fantasy schedules |
yup, I hear you.
However it is a rumour network and not quite sure how you license that. And in terms of silliness and rivalry between threads there is PIK v GLA, GLA v EDI, CWL v BRS, BHX v MAN and the never ending LTN v SEN saga all going on with fantasy routes, carriers and in the case of SEN rail timetables so BFS and BHD is not dissimilar at all, it just gets a bit more tribal at times. |
Aer Lingus drop the 4th daily LGW from 28 April, slot will be used to increase DUB-LGW, not a surprise to say the least.
|
well, well well, this highly performing route!! EI blinks first. Airport of choice and all that.
TB |
Any word Jamie on the route continuing past Oct? There is a few 4th rotations at the moment but not for long
|
Interesting how the EI LGW is developing. The 4th daily rotation is now cancelled and redirected to the DUB LGW route.
This coupled with BHD LGW EI Schedule not being posted, leads one to think that EI is considering what to do, watching what happens in the coming weeks. BE will certainly be gaining confidence to hold firm on the route. Separately it looks like BA Is flexing their DUB LHR frequency with reports that DUB LHR dropping down to 5 a day for a short period. I certainly wouldnt be surprised to see BA axe DUB and EI axe BHD.... EI-BUD |
Schedules
Gone are the days where profitable airlines will chase market share over profits EI have a conservative approach to short haul and I believe they will not add capacity other than for extra profit so I believe BHD LGW lost this extra rotation to a more profitable Dublin route , ironic that LGw DUb is against FR ! Currently six EI and four FR daily flights on Dublin LGW and EI moving to 7 now
EIR would be well suited to BHD for some routes and news on that to come. |
and news on that to come. EIR would be crazy to touch BHD as BE would be all over them. BE would respond to defend their core market. Yes EI have a conservative approach to short haul and moving LGW BHD rotation to DUB shows that it will do better as a 7th daily trip on that route compared to BHD. LGW DUB has over capacity already, and EI flagged the latest 319s for this route for that reason. EI must have expected BE to roll over, and now they see that this is unlikely and they are retreating. If EI want a future at BHD they need to stick it out on BHD LGW with a schedule suited to business and leisure passenger. The new summer tt is poor. If they end LGW BHD it makes a total statement to BE about future plans and staying power in the market... EI-BUD |
Anyone hear how EI did with PMI today? First flight correct me if I'm wrong
|
Anyone know why tomorrows Leeds Jet2 flights are operating out of Belfast City instead of Belfast International?
BFS BHD |
Most peculiar to see LS doing BHD, especially given that the website is still selling the seats as Belfast International. Flyve increased frequency on the BHD LBA route last week if I am not mistaken, but cannot see what impact that could have on their operation tomorrow...

Odd choice for Jet 2. Wonder if its a toe in the water to see how it goes ;)
|
Very strange, perhaps work on the apron at Aldergrove but surely there wouldnt be a big enough delay to justify this?
Anything to do with G8? Doesnt really make any logical sense but I`m sure there is an answer somewhere. Any other Jet2 flights changed? Is it just for tomorrow? |
