IMHO either selling either EDI or GLA would allow greater competition in Scotland.
Selling STN would get the NIMBY's off BAA's backs, but who would want to buy STN given the pressure from the rich and powerful anti-expansion group. I'm surprised STN got built in the first place. |

Perhaps Euro flights will also thrive at GLA? I fail to see why you posted a link to a usenet group that hardly highlights what you intended. FWIW, what did you intend? Independendent ownership of Scotland's central belt airports would lead to more healthy competition surely? Something the Competition Commission strived for. Would you prefer the Status Quo? |

All I can say is, that in the last year LGW has improved a great deal in terms of internal decoration, facilities etc. STN meanwhile is in a time-warp -stuck in the 80s.Ok, the shops are nice, but the passsenger facilities are not. The problem is - why should BAA spend any money on STN, knowing that in due course they will have to sell the airport?
