Pilots flying for no pay in at least one GA operator
Alas me also. And generally, as you know, in GA most operators require you to pay for your TR.

However, the nature of PTF NOW is that wannabees are committing sums of money for a specific number of line hours before being asked to make way for the next PTF.

Currently, this is not so prevalent in the GA sector but is growing within the airlines...How long before the GA sector realise this could be another revenue stream in what is a very tought market? How long before GA operators start to charge for line hours? Not so out of date methinks....

So then.... has MH paid any money back to the four pilots?

Have Thmaes Valley Police made any progress on this fraud case?

All seems rather quiet!

iris0202 22nd Apr 2010 21:40

Not sure about the fraud probe or any repayment to the pilots, but MH has definitely been trying to erase records of his adventures online. His Wikipedia screenname (Cryton4) appeared again this last Monday on the "history" section of his Wikipedia page - this time trying to delete the page. Unfortunately for him, Wikipedia leaves it up to other editors to see if there's valid reason for deletion. There's not....nothing beyond him wanting to pretend the whole thing never happened. :=

This appears at the bottom of his user page (written to him from another Wikipedia editor):
"Cryton4: your diligence in creating and nurturing the [MH] page was notable. But that does not mean it be so easily deleted. You used it very effectively to promote yourself and your airline. But that confers no right to then delete the page."

I would imagine MH has attempted to jump ship at this point since his gf is from the US, according to Wikipedia. I wonder where the money to do that would come from....hmmm....

Pilot Positive 22nd Apr 2010 21:47

...attempted to jump ship...
But where to? Surely he's not going to attempt to remain within UK aviation?

iris0202 22nd Apr 2010 21:48

I would imagine the US.

Pilot Positive 22nd Apr 2010 22:35

has attempted to jump ship at this point since his gf is from the US

er....good effort in spotting the deliberate error. :ouch:

Captivep 6th Aug 2010 11:41

Had a bit of a scout around news websites but it all appears to have gone very quiet...

Anyone heard anything?

mad_jock 6th Aug 2010 22:24

Nah you won't do either the idiot has no assets.

I Think most operators that have 19 seats are savy to the idiot now.

If you have over 19 seats you have to start putting money down for the route to the CAA.

The blokes I know that flew with him reckon he was pretty ham fisted and a complete pain in the arse on the FD. So I can't see him getting a pilot reference for any work.

So add to the fact he is ginger his job prospects were minimal anyway and with his reputation they are even worse.

BellyAir 7th Aug 2010 11:14

a jock discriminating on the basis of ginger hair?

I don't believe it.

The last 2 acceptable prejudices; being posh and being ginger (indicative of celtic roots).

bar fly 9th Aug 2010 10:14

He has resurfaced at BVI Airways as Commercial Director in the British Virgin Islands.

Here we go again?

TwinAisle 9th Aug 2010 10:37

BVI Airways to begin service in late February

Well well well - a J31....

I'm getting déjà vu. Actually, déjà moo. Heard this BS before...

As you say, Bar Fly - here we go again. To all potential employees, suppliers, passengers, airports - TREAD EXTREMELY CAREFULLY.

TA

airborne_artist 10th Aug 2010 11:36

I'm reliably informed that with immediate effect MH is no longer known as Baby Branson, but Mini-Maxwell :}

TwinAisle 10th Aug 2010 11:40

Has he bought a yacht? :}

HeadingSouth 10th Aug 2010 11:58

and by the name of "Luke Smith"...

...no one will pinpoint him on the net either :) the previous name used was so unique...

At least he's learned something...

Ballymoss 10th Aug 2010 20:15

TwinAisle

Has he bought a yacht?
.............from which he will be lost overboard very soon one would hope:bored:

Rgds
The Moss:ok:

mad_jock 10th Aug 2010 21:27

Bar Fly thanks for highlighting were the ginger  is now operating.

There have been a few question about that operation amongst J32/32 rated pilots who were out of work and nobody had a clue about it. There has been some cold calling as well. If they have the varsity database it would explain it.

Mind you Air Baltic seem to like the scottish J31 product so hopfully none of the lads/lassies should be unemployed for much longer.

madlandrover 14th Aug 2010 20:54

The blokes I know that flew with him reckon he was pretty ham fisted and a complete pain in the arse on the FD.
And the ones I know that flew with him at an earlier stage of his training didn't have much time for him either, not least because his own attempts at S+L in a PA28 left him airsick. Rumour from an engineering link to a CI operator is that he struggled rather a lot in the JS too. Ah well...

jetstreamtechrecords 15th Aug 2010 14:59

yassir he strugled with his basic type rating on the J32

Pilot Positive 16th Aug 2010 17:37

Well you have to hand it to him, he's persistent. :ugh:

Although they do do things differently in that part of the world...very differently.

iris0202 18th Aug 2010 03:30

Oh my...here we go again. I wonder if BV Airways is aware of MH's messy past with airline start-ups. Not someone I'd want anywhere near my new venture. I'd love to hear the interview (performance) that got him hired on at BV Airways...I'm sure it was just as smooth as the lies he spun to get those pilots to pay him all that money back in the UK. Did they ever get repaid?

MH attempted some edits on his Wikipedia page that said he was cleared of all wrongdoing associated with the Varsity Express scam. More lies? Probably. I didn't hear any other news on that story. Anyone have an update?
