Mistake on arrivals board at BFS!!!!!! does anyone know when they plan to start updating belfast international? it needs a serious makeover.. landside and airside |
gate 22 - are you being deliberatly mischievious.
'BHD becoming the focus of future growth possibilities' - BHD and BFS are separate entities and BHD can never compete on a level playing field with BFS. Aside from all of the planning growth restrictions, it closes at 9:30 pm so is not desirable to charter airlines or cargo and it doesnt have the infrastructure to handle anything larger than an A321. |
heard the same thing when they put all those red and white blocks out i thought they were going to start... then saw some contractors around stand 21 but they seem to be doing something just behind were servisair parks their equipment but dont think its anything major... they really do need to get started if they want to compete against the threat from BHD.. and its unacceptable making passengers walk from the gate to stands 14 and 15 especially in some of the weather conditions recently
one thing that BFS will have over BHD is the fact theres no take off or landing restrictions at certain times |
lome
about that 'lome' flight. I have seen that written up there at least twice now. Is it really a typing error. I mean R is nowhere near L on the keyboard. Lome is the capital of togo.
|
EZY doesnt do any flights to or from lome to BFS... ive seen the mistake before, but the 741 is a LGW flight
|
Bet you the Crew and Pax of the diverted BEE last night couldn't give a fiddlers that they had to use BFS instead of BHD..they got "home" without too much of an inconvenience.
I say we should think ourselves lucky that we have an alternative, both the travelling public and if you are local crew the options could be much worse. BFS will always be the Daddy, BHD will have to content itself wearing the apron. To all at both, have a good Christmas and don't eat too much Turkey. |
Dash 8 Delivery Flight
Just seen a flight plan for a Dash 8 200 enroute to EGAC from BIRK, currently about 80nm out. Using the Callsign DHC05.
Any ideas who the customer is? bfsalphaone |

how Ryanair can say anthing about Aer Lingus' loads from BFS i do not know. This mornings, PIK flight around 9ish left with a grand total of .... 12 passengers. thats single digit load factor! How long can they sustain this i do not know.
|
BelfastMark... FR currently have three rotations BHD / PIK on Monday and Friday, but I notice that from the end of March they're dropping down to just two in line with other weekdays.
|
12 is a single digit? What does that make 4 then?
|
while the extension to the runway at BHD will allow for larger aircraft or heavier loads on current aircraft.. the question is can BHD's current facilities handle transatlantic flights (increase in passengers, bags, security checkpoint etc..)..
maybe this threat will encourage BFS to finally start updates and improving the airports condition as the only evidence ive seen so far of "improvements" is replacing screens at the international baggage track (air side), putting up a few arrivals signs and replacing cracked windows.. i thought they would have at least started the most disruptive construction during october/november/first week of Dec while flights were light and there was less passengers running about the ramp.. but nope, oh well theres hope in feburary/march i suppose, but it wudnt surprise me if they leave it until the peak summer time :ugh: super737, i think BelfastMark meant 12 is a single digit when its put into load factor (%) |
12 is a single digit? What does that make 4 then? Ie 8% or 6% depending on what the number of seats on the aircraft available for sale are ie 149 or 189..etc. Belfastmark, this is facinating, I noticed on CAA that pax numbers on PIK BHD had grown hugely of late, but thought it was only 2 x daily!! |
Yea, like I want bfs to be the big, dominating aprt but it really badly needs an upgrade
|
Okay my post is a bit cheeky but im not as mentally challenged as some members here. The PIK does do very well actually, and before people say blah blah blah I do have access to their comp systems and loads.
Only 12 people travelled? That doesn't really reflect the amount booked and that could not be representative of pax offloaded. Ryr flights tend to have a high amount of no shows anyways. Also IIRC ryr use pax booked not travelled as a loadfactor anyway so again not really representative of anything really apart from the fact that not that many people outbound but what about inbound from PIK bringing back people from the weekend football and all that? |
super737, I wasnt having a go at you. I was very interested with info re the number of pax on that flight. I doesnt appear that Flybe are badly hurting on the Glasgow route since Ryanair arrived in the Glasgow/BHD market. However, November I think they were behind a bit on the same months last year, but it is hard to put this down just to Ryanair effect.
I would say that past week being the pre christmas anti climax? would have meant soft loads on most routes? hence PIK BHD for eg today? Tell me how are the loads on Belfast East Midlands with Ryanair in the last few weeks and months? I wonder what the WW stats are for BFS EMA, these didnt show up on the CAA provisional stats. I imagine FR are carrying pax 2:1 over WW , but not sure???? |
Just for those interested the Pax restriction at BHD on FR738's is now up to 170.
Regards |
