Hi all

Will the gla-bjv route be opperated next year by tcx as its currently not on sale?
getting reports it will by travel agents but some say no.

Our flight out on monday was 224/233 on G-WJAN GLA-BJV
Where they swaped G-WJAN for G-TCBB IN BJV.

you said a few posts back that thomas cook made you an ambassador for them.
i have a question.
all the posts you post are spotters questions that if thomas cook did as you said, you can get imformation from them, and a lot more sensative information than you can get on here. so whats the deal asking these questions, and also on this forum,as they should be asked in the spotters forum.

TSR2 16th May 2015 11:40

I believe he meant a self appointed ambassador.

Sholto Douglas 16th May 2015 11:54

I believe the Ambassador reference is possibly alluding to a person visiting travel agents to promote Thomas Cook as a company. They may not be employed directly by Thomas Cook but by a third-party and conduct product training and trade campaigning.

CabinCrewe 16th May 2015 12:13

Spotters or not, these are not really the updated rumour posts I want to be reading in the TCX thread ie about what planned rego swap happens downwind.

pamann 16th May 2015 13:16

Thank god it's not just me thinking this :ugh:

This thread has just descended into someone's personal, possibly school project and risks (hopefully) getting shut down if it doesn't move on and quick.

Mods can you have a word please :ok:

Has somebody got a list of the routes the Condor 757-300 is flying from Man this summer, flew back last night on ABOA and I have to say what a smart looking interior and very clean, couldn't fault the flights.

Given the current publicity surrounding Thomas Cook, they may soon need all the help they can get.

alasdair1 17th May 2015 21:26

Hi folks
My message was route relatedand i have been in contact with the.product teams within and outside the airline

I am in resort in bodrum area and no news out here at the office.

chuzwuza 17th May 2015 21:32

A holiday rep/spotter! Awesome.

Ian Brooks 18th May 2015 07:45

Scandic
Aircraft change almost daily as aircraft change over at destination usually
with an aircraft from Frankfurt

LiamNCL 18th May 2015 16:47

Think he meant what routes are Condor doing from MAN on the 753 ?

Speaking of Condor anyone know why A321 D-AIAG Got delivered to Manchester direct from XFW ?

sparkysam 19th May 2015 03:27

Air Tanker/TCX

Flew MAN/CUN recently on the recently introduced air tanker A330. What a retrograde step this aircraft is, seat pitch is good at 35inch but the material is very hard grade cloth. No seat back IFE system just three wall mounted small flat panel screens on forward bulkhead and six drop down screens for the rest of the cabin. From our seats on row thirteen our nearest watchable screen was fifteen feet away. Row one six and seven have a toilet door very close to them (premium seats) TCX management need to look closely at thompsons 787s. The crew who were all Scottish were excellent and the meals were much improved over last year. James Martin now overseeing the cuisine. Cheers Sam

paully 19th May 2015 07:24

Air Tanker Jobbie

This particular A330 is part of Air Tankers surge fleet, which means it comes in basic military format, and is leased to TC with the agreement of the RAF. In a national emergency it can be recalled `to the colours` as it were, to be used as part of a troop airlift. I would imagine the lease rates are much cheaper for TC and as its a new aircraft it should be reliable..

Maybe best to avoid this one though if you are going long haul on holidays..Its basically a squaddie carrier

janeyTA 19th May 2015 10:21

Christoph Debus has said the Air Tanker is being taken out of service in the next couple of months to be completely refurbed to the standards they requested ie the same as the rest of the A330s. 31" pitch and seatback IFE. It will remain all economy as originally planned.

sparkysam 19th May 2015 15:01

Air tanker/TCX

That's good to know its getting an upgrade, 10:30 flying time outbound and 9:20 on the inbound leg were the most uncomfortable I have done for a long time. I believe they are leasing a second one next year. Cheers sam

paully 19th May 2015 20:09

Seems peculiarly strange to take an aircraft out of service, in the peak season,to refurb it, especially when it has just been delivered from Airbus..still you never know with TCX these days do you?

SCANDIC 25th May 2015 18:13

TCCB back from Abu Dhabi to Man then straight out to Dalaman, has it been for maintenance plus paint job?

Funderblaster 26th May 2015 07:30

Just maintenance. The B763's aren't getting the new paint scheme anytime soon if at all

tattbenj 28th May 2015 13:25

TCX848

TCX 848 heading from Manchester to New York has returned to Manchester after heading out over the Atlantic. Didn't declare emergency and made a safe landing. Doesn't appear to be anything too major as you'd have thought they'd have diverted to Shannon, but does anyone know what happened?

wesleyscott 29th May 2015 22:42

TCX1603

Diverted from Gatwick to Stansted...anyone know why?

dude1882 31st May 2015 08:13

Declared emergency, ran too low on fuel whilst holding for LGW so diverted to STN

sparkie320 31st May 2015 16:20

G-TCDY

Hi as this gone in for Maintenance as was Stansted based and my friend were booked to go out to Antalya on a A321 but got Bonus 767 Titan instead

alasdair1 8th Jun 2015 02:53

G-TCDY

Hi G-TCDY is back now STN based

SFCC 8th Jun 2015 20:32

No it's not.
No TCX aeroplanes are 'based' at any specific airport.
It may be there for a short while or an extended period, but it certainly isn't based anywhere.

Im sure that was what was meant, and is what is familiar to most of us. The same tends to apply to TOM etc

pamann 8th Jun 2015 21:45

Once again this thread descends into another 'Spotters Forum' :ugh:

alasdair1 8th Jun 2015 23:54

from our point of veiw at glasgowtcx is that well at gla we have our 3 x G-TCBB,LI and AN BASED 752's

ericlday 9th Jun 2015 08:03

Other than Spotters who is actually interested in the registration of the based Aircraft ?

SFCC 9th Jun 2015 09:31

Quite so. Time to send this to the spotters forum

Evanelpus 9th Jun 2015 10:54

Not flown TC before so wanted to ask if you can pre book seats on their flights from Gatwick to Gran Canaria?

Plenty of time, we don't go until March next year but I forgot to ask the Travel Agent if this is possible or not.

MTIA for any answers.:)

janeyTA 9th Jun 2015 11:03

Just go onto the airlines website where there is plenty of info.

alasdair1 9th Jun 2015 20:35

reserved seating

We offer this on all of our flights
We also have a bundle deal for customers 3 extras for the price of two e.gseats together and extra 5kg and meal free

Hope it helps
Www.thomascookairlines.co.uk

alasdair1 9th Jun 2015 20:42

To a base registrations matter as all aircraft have different load limits , different seat config like WJAN as it has a row 1 a,b,c and other 75's dont in the tc fleet it also has no row 30 A,b,c and carries 2 less seats.

different take off weights BB has 108T limit and WJAN has 115T limit,
Plus for flight deck the ex chinese 757's have different fma's than the others
Also important for aircraft swaps ,maint,

Not quite. The offer is prebooked seats, 20kg luggage (not an extra 5kg) and a meals is free (not on longhaul).

alasdair1 10th Jun 2015 00:52

Janey TA - I was refering to package holidays in my example as its standard 15 KG and the 3 for 2 offers an extra 5 to make it 20
but on flight only its pre- booked seats and 20 kg and meals as 20 kg is the flight only minimum.

paully 10th Jun 2015 06:56

I don`t care how good the inclusive package is, until they improve the absolutely awful and unacceptable leg room on short haul, they won`t be getting any business from me...worse flights I`ve ever had

janeyTA 10th Jun 2015 08:13

alasdair, as you posted that on an airline forum, perhaps for the sake of clarity you should have said that then, as it isn't something the airline offer. It's offered by the TO/TA and doesn't apply to all packages that they sell.

We offer this on all of our flights
Congratulations! Ambassador to employee

CabinCrewe 10th Jun 2015 11:04

im sure that was a quote from said website (albeit poorly formatted) rather than a vetbatim phrase.
