Air Atlanta
Deedave
Air Atlanta moved out of their two sites in Ramsgate and Manston and moved into the new Avia building on the Industrial Park next to Cummins Diesel. They also took over the old EUjet engineers unit airside at MSE and still use it as a line maintenance base when aircraft come in for servicing and a clean up. Usually following the Haj. MDIS |

Also, does anyone know anything about this rumour that MK are under investigation? |
If you're referring to the original post in "Rumours and News", it's still there under "MK Cargo".

It's good news for Egypt and MK though as they seem to be picking up the extra DAS freight for the time being. |
MK Airlines
Gents,
With DAS in trouble, MK Airlines AOC and the new partnership with a well known UK forwarder (not ANA) - things are about to become a whole lot brighter for MSE. The question is ' Are they up for it?'. MK Airlines are on the verge of increasing exports by 300%. |
any news on pax airlines that are in discussion with Infratil ??
i heard korean air cargo could be making a move from stansted to manston? thanks :ooh: |
berrs003
Haven't heard that one before, but it would be great to see another operator transferring from STN like Egypt Air. Obviously doin something right. |
Not sure if im right and im might well be wrong !
but I thought Korean air cargo were banned from STN after the crash a few years ago. please forgive me if im wrong but im 70% sure:bored: . |

Are you a pal of James? My research shows that Korean operates from LHR. |
Just some interesting information!
PJ McGoldrick was folied in the last few weeks in his purchase of Irish charter operator, Eirjet. As some of you are no doubt aware Eirjet went 'belly up' last week. Alot of former EUjet employees, ones who would have been made redundent in December 2004, before the companies HQ was moved to MSE, were working for Eirjet. Which had former skyjet management. Would Eirjet have used MSE as a landing base- probably! |
I think an elephant just walked into the living room.
An elephant called Nicholas Stern. If I understood my copy of the "Times" correctly, the political fall-out from the Stern report implies that the UK government are likely to use taxation to halt aviation expansion, and that this will begin next March. Not just on pax either - Airfreight appears to be implicated as well. MSE is already struggling. Without an expanding aviation sector, the outlook looks even bleaker. I originally guessed a Manston closure date of 2009. Perhaps I was too optimistic. |
Dave say something Nice its xmas soon:ok: and Manston still has 3 years yet for it work well.
PS where are they struggling then? James |
Good News
Kent International Airport
Kent International Airport handled 2,509 tonnes of freight in October, a record month and a 48.5% ahead of the corresponding month last year. This strong growth is due in part to the European winter approaching, with increased volumes of fresh produce being imported from Africa. However, export volumes (368 tonnes) are also growing, partly due to the increasing confidence that airlines have in Kent's team and its ability to deliver quality service in both import and export functions. |
Kent International Airport
If you you look at the KIA web site it now has a Current Vacancies
option. Thinks thay may be looking for staff soon. Air freight up, maybe taking on staff a lot of investment, Radar, lighting. Its all doom and gloom. |

Okey doke... The Stern report is essentially optimistic. It states that, by taking small actions now, economic catasrophe can be avoided further down the line. In practical terms, it means the aviation sector will have to be smaller and more expensive, but it will also be leaner and more efficient. Yes, it does mean that chaps like me will have to find ways to cut our business travel, and yes, various inefficient operations such as MSE with it's poor load factors are unlikely to survive, but overall, a reduced and more efficient aviation sector may well satisfy Milliband's targets, and those of us who rely on aviation will be able to continue to function in some way or other. So yes James, spotters like yourself will still be able to watch blokes like me waving at you from the cabin!!! |
MSE
EUAir,
Not just people made redundant in 2004, there were also plenty of us who were with EUjet right at the end! Lots of the Ops/ Crewing staff in particular. D. |
