Logie/suckling Do328 I believe.

Letsflycwl 11th Dec 2013 15:57

Would the EDI-CWL route be a D38 or SF3 ?? Would Loganair also step in and takeover the GLA-CWL route from Flybe too ? Or even a split load with NQY ??

mathers_wales_uk 11th Dec 2013 16:00

Looking at the booking system it will be a Dornier 328.

Cloud1 11th Dec 2013 16:26

Will there be a second Dornier based at NWI? Struggling to see how the aircraft will achieve the current 3 daily MAN plus (after Easter) the 3 daily EDI

AirGuru 11th Dec 2013 16:28

Yes, a second aircraft will be based at NWI in addition to 6 staff.

bad bear 11th Dec 2013 16:35

Where are the 2 D38s coming from?

SWBKCB 11th Dec 2013 16:37

Would have though there was still slack in the ex Suckling fleet

NickBarnes 11th Dec 2013 17:06

suckling have 6 d328's, so would come from one of those i presume as one is spare at the moment for subbing other aircraft

but good news for Norwich more local jobs, extra flights but on a smaller aircraft should work well for them like Manchester has, well presume it has as it is still going on the same frequencies

Flight times as follows

Norwich to Edinburgh
06:50 - 08:10 Mon - Fri
13:50 - 15:10 Mon - Fri + Sun peak period
17:30 - 18:50 Mon - Fri + Sun

Edinburgh to Norwich
08:40 - 10:00 Mon - Fri
15:40 - 17:00 Mon - Fri + Sun Peak period
19:20 - 20:40 Mon - Fri + Sun

A good route for Loganair would be GLA-LBA-CWL sector, Capital did it a few years ago with their Short 360's so this could work for Loganair and their D38, SF3 and possibly their new Saab 2000's

So the fact that a route apparently worked until 1990 (not exactly "a few years ago") in a world of low fuel prices, no LCCs or LCC-driven price expectations, and no APD, is your evidence that it "could work" now? :ugh:

Cloud1 11th Dec 2013 22:01

letsflycwl - have said it before, admire your passion and determination for CWL but some suggestions and comments you make are either unrealistic or naive. You dont work for CWL Airport Marketing department do you??

Capt. Tango 11th Dec 2013 22:36

Bless you Letsflycwl
I see you said that Capital operated the GLA-LBA-CWL route a few years ago... that was the one that went to BRS first and infact a few years ago was June 1990 (23 years ago) when they went bust!
The Dornier 328 would be a nice aircraft to fly on that route, but the operating costs would be a stopper.

Sorry Cyrano, i missed your comment by accident and as much duplicated your message

No more news on the arrival of Saab 2000s? Heard that crew training had started, anyone know? Just curious.

Cloud1 1st Feb 2014 12:27

Saab 2000s definitely coming in hopefully for the summer - paperwork being sorted out at the moment so I guess once that is done the sales side of it can be changed so that the booking engine will reflect the increase capacity

Following this announcement today, how confident are you?

tallaonehotel 7th Feb 2014 21:58

What makes you say that Jethro?

Cloud1 7th Feb 2014 22:22

Well as Loganair are getting them to simply increase capacity on their 5 (?) a day sectors I remain confident that nothing has changed

Saab2000s are still in Loganair plans

SWBKCB 15th Mar 2014 07:58

First S2000 has appeared on G-INFO

Cloud1 19th Mar 2014 23:21

Just looked at booking engine for ABZ-LSI in July and it is giving a 50 seater map - one assumes the Saab 2000
