1987 Airline from London to Goa?
I wondered if anybody could help me remember the name of the airline I flew to Goa, India on in 1987? The company has gone bust now. I think the flight was from Gatwick but could be heathrow...
Help appreciated!!! |
Hmmmmm, flying to Goa and long term memory loss. Could the two be related????

Paramount MD83?
|
Caledonian L1011 Tristar? Dark blue with a golden bear on the tail, whoops a lion on the tail!
|
was it perhaps air europe ? on a b757 200 ?
|
Dan Air on a 737-400 ?
(Stops enroute somewhere in Greece (Rhodes?) and then Sharjah or Dubai or wherever?) |
also seem to recall Paramount, who were based at Bristol with a small fleet of MD83s operating to Goa at that time.

Not Caledonian
....they weren't formed until May 1988 and didn't start flying to GOA until the 90's.
|
Could be Novair, formerly BCal Charter, BCA Charter, CAl-Air.
We actually operated the B737-400, through HER and SHJ as I recall. On the other hand, 1987 might be a bit early for the Boeings, can't recall if we went there with the DC10's. Anyone else recall? |
Pretty sure the Tour Operator would have been Inspirations ( then called Inspirations East) and the airline Paramount. The old grey matter is not what it was but I believe it tech stopped in Larnaca.

Seem to remember some sad b*st*rds forming an airline called "Goa Way". They had some HS748s which were repo'd and spent some time idle at Manchester.:hmm:
