Snoop Finnair buys Swedish airline Nordic Airlink

Finnair will purchase 85% of swedish company Nordic Airlink. There has been a lot of rumours about Finnair trying to get in to the low fares market as well as compete more effectively in the IT market.

Nordic Airlink currently operates MD80's and SAAB340 aircraft on the domestic Swedish routes as well as ACMI market in and around Europe.

By purchasing an existing carrier Finnair can avoid most of the labour issues as well as AOC and long preparation times involved in setting up a company in Finland.
