Acute Image to design new Ansett Derivative livery package.
Pacific Southwest Engineering Pty Ltd Venture Consultants (based in Melbourne Australia) has signed up Acute Image of Melbourne to develop the new image for its proposed new Australian regular public transport passenger and freight carrier expected to go into service in 12 to 15 months. The company has been given the task of generating a completely fresh image with a definitive link to the former Ansett Australia. Former Ansett staff are being given first priority to be involved in this venture and many of the consultants have played an active part in putting their views across on how they would like to see the new airline seen by the public. Competitions were run over several weeks to enable consultants to submit ideas for a new name and image. The new airline has yet to decide on its fleet, but the Airbus A320 family and Emb190 are heavy contenders.
Although there have been several attempts to start a new (third) domestic carrier in Australia, this is the first venture of its kind to base its business plan on providing jobs for Australians and being a good corporate citizen whilst at the same time generating respectable profits and exit strategies for its investors. The venture relies heavily entrepreneurial goodwill which is not surprisingly abundant among former Ansett staff.
