Smile Even More Monarch Scheduled from MAN!

Rumour has it that those Monarch chaps are about to launch a MANBCN daily service for the winter.

Hi,

Will they be using the A320 for this flight?

Thanks

Is there a large demand for this flight?

Thanks

The airlines certainly seem to think there is demand. Currently Iberia are the only airline serving this route, using an A320 daily. Come the winter season, both bmibaby and Monarch will be introducing daily flights on the MAN-BCN route aswell. With about a 200% increase in capacity on the route time will tell if there is sufficient demand. It will be interesting to see how Iberia react to all this sudden competition.

Hi,

Passengers who are Spanish will probably choose to fly with Iberia instead of WW and ZB.

Thanks

Any truth in the rumour that Monarch Scheduled have now decided against any further expansion at it's Luton (H.O base) with all future developments to be centered on MAN & LGW. ZB currently flies to Alicante. Faro Gibraltar, Menorca, Malaga and Tenerife from LTN. Certainly recent events from MAN seem to go some way to confirming the rumour.

Would not know about your theory, BAe 146-100. Spanish friends of mine consider Iberia to be very expensive so much so, for example, that some go to America through London rather than from Madrid even when there are direct flights. The Spanish like a bargain price as much as the next man if they have the knowledge!

Also, all the ZB flights I have been on (about 15 or so as a passenger) have had Spanish speaking cabin crew and the safety demonstations and welcome/goodbye greetings in Spanish too. The Spanish speaking passenger is certainly considered.

Do you know different unwiseowl? Monarch have increased frequency on TFS to 4 a week for the winter and have kept this for April (and for next summer I believe). Looks like they are growing new bases and consolidating at existing ones to me. Measured growth would seem to be quite prudent.

Hi,

At AGP yesterday there was 2 flights leaving to LTN. 1 hour later 2 flights were leaving to MAN (Charter and Scheduled). I don't think they will leave LTN behind.
