Question When EasyJet was just a baby. . .

. . . what was it like?

I really did not begin to take much of an interest in EasyJet until about 1998 when Airline first started, however could anyone please tell me about EasyJet's relationship with GB Airways.

Was it successful?
Was it liked by EZY and GB crews?
Were the interiors orange also?

Just some general info would be nice on early days EZY.

Hi,

When EZY first started they operated 737-200's. G-BECH and G-BECG.

EasyJet 737-204/Adv G-BECH

EasyJet 737-204/Adv G-BECG

Try finding a copy of Simon Calder's book on No Frills airlines - it has a good section on the start-up of easyJet.

Not sure if many people gave them much thought at the time - two aircraft operating from LTN didn't pose much of a threat to the BA's and BD's. In hindsight maybe they regret not taking them seriously. BA even talked about buying them in about 1997 before setting up go, but that's another story....

I have read Simon Calder's No Frills book and his latest updated edition but I must ask one or two questions which the book failed to answer:

1. How long did this arrangement last for?
2. What was the interiors like? Simply BA's with EZY headcovers.
3. What was the uniforms and onboard service like?

bmi.baby - If your enquiry is genuine I can help you a lot on this subject, I have tried sending you a personal message but it doesn't seem to work. Let me have your e mail and if your profile is accurate I will tell you all - well nearly all!
