Question FLYBE/BE Dash-8 Q400`S at NCL

As far as i know the Dash 4s were supposedly going to fly the NCL-Belfast City run but have not yet started. This was proposed for June! They have starded using Dash 4`s on the saturday Jersey run but that is it? Anyone know anymore on this?

BE Q400 NCL.

The Q400 operates a charter route once weekly from Newcastle on the weekend, and this is a W flight originating in Birmingham.

None of the Newcastle based flightdeck are Q400 checked and there certainly is no Q400 course on the next roster either.

If the Q400 came on the NCL-BHD it would probably only operate the few services that originate from BHD, for the immediate future, as nearly all of the BHD sectors from NCL are operated by the NCL crews and based Dash-300.

The NCL-JER is still on the Dash-300. If it was to be operated on the Q400, it would have to be flown by crews from a Q400 base, which would mean it having to be brought to NCL first to operate the 0800 departure on Saturday.

Until the NCL crews are trained on the Q400, don't expect to see alot of Q400 activity here.

Changes in the company at the minute will probably determine whether the Q400 comes to NCL rather than the load factors (which are very good) requiring it.

Talking flybe Q400's

Slightly unrelated topic but you sound like you are employed by flybe.
I am in the 'pool' at the moment awaiting a start date, could you give me any info on how frequently the courses are running and how many are on each one.
Any info would be warmly recieved as the waiting is not easy.

Many thanks

starship,

Is the Q400 charter that you mentioned the aircraft that positions BHX-BRS early on Saturday mornings, then flies BRS-SZG, SZG-NCL, NCL-SZG, SZG-BRS before positioning back to BHX from BRS late on Saturday evenings?

I wondered where this a/c went in the middle of its W and assumed from the SZG airport departure/arrival board that it was NCL.

jarjam - Unfortunately the training system at the moment is somewhat all over the place. Recent problems with sim slots and other things have caused a bit of a backlog, so it would be difficult to state for sure when courses will start & finish. With 17 DHC8-400s on order I'm sure your number will come up eventually, be patient.

MerchantVenturer - Yes, correct in every detail.
