Barra

After reading the article on Barra in this months 'Pilot' magazine. I would be interested if someone was to explain the "tide state diagram"

Many Thanks

It is many years since I landed my Aztec on the water at Barra, so I'm probably well out of date.

In those days there were ?3? sets of markers, A/B/C, set out down the beach, and the lovely lilting voice of the lady AFISO there would tell you where the tide was 'between the B/C markers'. That's where you aimed. Then run it up the beach, take your sarnies and flask up the hill, and spend a wonderful peaceful day waiting for your pax.

Don't forget to hose the salt out on return!

Aah! Makes ILS's into CDG positively pedestrian.

Video Clips

I also read the feature, very interesting....Does anyone have a video clip of the approach and landing.....
Lads, strap a mini video camera to the bulkhead, and shoot the arrival.
Let me know when shot......
